Busy weekend, no pictures

Well, I managed to get a decent amount of work done this weekend thankfully. I even got some wiring done, woohoo!! Indicators and brakes were the order of the day, all fully plumbed in. That included the hazard switch and tell-tales for the fluid level. I also wired in the fan lead, and added several earth wires for the various circuits. As expected it was a case of JFDI. The work isn't complicated if you take it one wire at a time, but looking at the whole thing and trying to plan it out it would drive the keenest Italian insane (Italian => Spaghetti => wiring loom).

The only doubt now with the wiring loom is how much slack I'm adding to the wires. I am taking a huge amount out of some wires, but still not cutting them as short as they could go. This might mean my final loom has a few loops in there to take up the unused wire. There 'might' be an opportunity to shorten some wires even further but that needs to be balanced out with having multiple joins in wires. In most cases I've been able to leave the wire intact and only reterminate one end to make it shorter. Thinking about it, only the fan wire has had to be rejoined as that had connectors on both ends.

I had planned on getting the headlights and a few other stray wires done on Sunday, but unfortunately I felt really rough so didn't get much done. Having said that I was able to get the steering rack degreased and painted, as well as the second mounting bracket made up. I'll get the rack back on at lunchtime as I really want to see whether the raised rack helps with the steering angles. Of course, as with anything suspension related it's always a compromise. Ackermann might improve but bump steer will increase. I won't know the impact of that until it's driving though.
